I finished reading...

... Solve your child's Sleep Problems by Dr. Richard Ferber. It's a great resource book for all sorts of sleep problems. I found it very informative as to the general nature of sleep itself. I think it's going to help me be less tired too!! However, it does not give a specific schedule to keep your child on, or very much information for the first couple weeks of life. I have trouble thinking of what to do for a bedtime routine, or setting a particular schedule. Still, despite that one need it did not cover, it is an excellent book. I've heard it's pretty controversial, but though myself the book was very straightforward! A must read for every parent! I want it in my library.

I researched...

... different mediums of family history today. A friend got me going on the idea (I told you in the family blog I am a sucker for family history) when we were discussing the upcoming family history enrichment. I started writing down every medium I could think of for family history, and it turns out, there are quite a few I don't do! Don't worry, I was just curious. I am sure down the road it will help someone (possibly one of my children) find something they can do to contribute to their personal & family history. Here are some new or creative mediums:
1. A collage blanket (yeah! You can make 'em at snapfish.com)
2. Timelines
3. Growth chart
4. Family Song, poem, play, puppet show, etc.
5. Calendars (you can even add pictures on each day now)
6. Collectibles (pick something up the same from every vacation - like a mug, or even have a collectible plate made with a vacation picture on it)
7. Family Motto, quote, slogan
8. Family Newsletter (every writes to one person, then they all get one, or round robin: you write something and pass it to the next person until it gets back to you!)
9. Label a map or blueprint of your neighborhood, town, or house. Places you usually go or special things you remember.
10. Family coat of arms or flag

Anyway - everyone should do family history! Your posterity needs it. Plus, it's a good way to reflect on how life is going. I know I am grateful for the histories left by my ancestors. Pick something and get going!!! (Have fun)

I paused...

... last night when for the first time in, I can't remember how long, I rolled onto my stomach trying to get comfortable.

"I" meaning "Eye"

It's just a blog about different things I view in the world. So please think of the "I" as what "eye" see, not as me. It's NOT however a soap box, so PLEASE add your in"sight" in the comments section!
